RACE VENUE

The race will start and finish at Eye Kettleby Lakes just outside Melton Mowbray, with the postcode LE14 2TN

 

START TIMES

Half Marathon at 10:30am

 

RACE NUMBER COLLECTION

Race numbers will be available for collection on Saturday 10th June from 2pm to 5pm and on race day from 8:30am onwards. There will be NO Half marathon race entries on the day.

 

CAR PARKING AND FACILITIES

There will be car parking available on site but changing rooms will not be provided. Please leave valuables locked in your vehicles but we will have a secure storage facility available for keys, wallets & purses etc. There will be ample toilets available and a family entertainment area.

 

THE COURSE

A map of the course and the elevation are shown here but the course is to be run predominantly on quiet minor roads and lanes with three drink stations set at approx 2, 4, 7 and 10 miles with drinks and food stands available at the finish. There will be mile markers set along the course.

Event organisers are able to amend the route at any time without prior notice.

 

CHIP TIMING

Official chip timing will be provided and results available via this website shortly after the event.

 

FINISHING

A t-shirt, medal and other goodies will be available to all finishers plus the added bonus of a signed autobiography by Claire Lomas, Finding my Feet. for all NEW HALF MARATHON entries this year. All goodie bags must be collected on the day as we will not be able to post any out. There will be prizes for the leading man and woman plus other catagories.

The race is run in accordance with UK Athletics Rules and can be found at www.runbritain.com. Please follow all instructions from race marshalls.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Minimum age is 17 years on the day of the race. Unfortunately the course is not suitable for the use of wheelchairs. Running with dogs is not permitted. BelvoirCare Medical Services will be in attendance on the day. 

 

PLEASE NOTE: UK ATHLETICS INSURANCE PROHIBITS THE USE OF MP3 PLAYERS/PHONES DURING THE RACE BUT OPEN HEADPHONES WILL BE ALLOWED AT YOUR OWN RISK
